All the market analysts show a sharp increase in the demand for broadband home networks motivated by the arrival of the Fiber to The Home (FTTH), the need for lower cost of interconnection, increased performance (higher speeds), introduction of digital electronics appliances and electromagnetic noise. Today, just “new wires” alternatives are able to meet these demands as existing “no new wires” technologies like WiFi or PLC are approaching their performance level as shared media.
